SUMMER CAMPS

Whitby School of Music offers summer camps through our partner school, Port Perry School of Music. Super Summer Camps offers exciting camps with fun weekly themes and the Canadian Red Cross Babysitting & First Aid Camps!

Camps are held during select weeks in July and August and offer a wide range activities for preschoolers, school age children and youth.

Whether your child is interested in taking part in general summer camp fun, music and dance or wants to earn their Canadian Red Cross Babysitting & First Aid Certification, we offer a camp that suits every interests and need!

DANCE CAMPS

Super Summer Camps offers multiple dance programs during each week of camp, combining Ballet, Hip Hop and Jazz for campers ages 4-14.

Dance classes are scheduled into the daily summer camp schedule, allowing children to engage in the dance activity they love while still having fun making crafts and being part of the regular Super Summer Camps programming!

Dance classes are taught by Royal Academy of Dance certified instructors.

CANADIAN RED CROSS BABYSITTING COURSE

The Red Cross Babysitting Course is designed for preteens and teens ages 9-15 years old who want to earn their babysitting certification and learn important skills about staying at home alone!

The babysitting course is offered throughout the year available in both a private or group setting. Participants learn how to provide care to younger children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. Important beginner business skills are also taught, such as how to write a resume and how to promote yourself as a babysitter to prospective parents.

babysitterUpon completion of the course, participants will take home the Red Cross Babysitter’s Manual, which includes Babysitter Wallet Cards to hand out to perspective parents.

The Babysitting Course is 8 hours in length, requires 100% attendance in order to pass and a 75% minimum passing grade is also required on the final written test in order to receive the Red Cross Babysitting certification.

CANADIAN RED CROSS STAY SAFE PROGRAM

Real-world scenarios often call on children to respond to challenges. The new Canadian Red Cross Stay Safe! program teaches applicable and age-appropriate skills, while increasing and reinforcing a youth’s capacity to improve his or her own safety. Whether in their community or on their own, this group will be given better tools to Stay Safe! in a variety of different situations.

Through positive, non-threatening, simple key messages and child-friendly learning resources, Be Safe! focuses on teaching the importance of responsibility and respect while being accountable for yourself, setting and following rules around safety when staying on your own, how to stay safe at home and within the community and how to prepare, recognize and respond to unexpected situations, (i.e. inclement weather, strangers, unanticipated visits).

Stay Safe! will be offered during a select week of Super Summer Camps.
