The school sponsors a number of recitals throughout the year, as well as a “Stars of Tomorrow” competition in the spring where students can win trophies, medals or prizes. Students are given the opportunity to perform in a fun and supportive setting.
Whitby School of Music also supports a number of local music festivals and competitions for students who enjoy these challenges.
Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations as well as independent assessments in the school are offered and students are prepared to meet these expectations.
Whitby School of Music has tastefully decorated studios with new Yamaha upright pianos in all studios where piano or voice is taught. Distractions, such as numerous wall decorations are kept to a minimum, allowing students to focus on their lesson and their playing. There is a comfortable waiting area where parents can relax while their child is in the lesson. Teachers are happy to discuss the student’s progress at the end of the lesson.

I have my own particular sorrows, loves, delights; and you have yours. But sorrow, gladness, yearning, hope, love, belong to all of us, in all times and in all places. Music is the only means whereby we feel these emotions in their universality. ~H.A. Overstreet
